Gyamtso is 24, from the Mongolian area of Qinghai. He became a monk when he was young, because ” he thought it looked like fun” but soon found that he was more drawn to the art world. He also studied thangka in Repgong for a few years, heard about us through the art world, and came to us because he wanted to learn western style art as well as traditional, so he can take on students in the future, and help open a new branch of creativity for Tibetan artists. When you ask him what his plans are for the future though, he says he doesn’t know enough yet, needs to learn first.
